Health officials throughout the Tri-State are joining forces to 'Get Out the Vax.'
The program aims to get 80% of community members age 16 and older vaccinated by the Fourth of July. An 80% vaccination rate equals a return to pre-pandemic life.
Health networks are partnering with nonprofits and local governments to break down barriers for people who don't have easy access to the vaccine. This includes free rides to appointments by METRO and TANK, as well as vaccine clinics scheduled to target the African American and Hispanic communities.
There are also incentives! People who bring their vaccination card showing proof of a first dose to the Reds ticket office can buy up to six tickets for any Monday-Thursday game from just $10 each.
Getting the vaccine is one of many steps for a healthy life, healthy communities and a healthy region. Together we can be healthy and have a thriving 20’s
What’s more students 16 and over that can provide proof of vaccination would no longer have to quarantine as close contacts in school, athletics, or extracurriculars once they are considered fully vaccinated (two weeks past final dose) and are asymptomatic.
