ERLANGER, Ky. (July 21, 2021) – The Arnett Elementary School Site-Based Decision-Making Council (SBDM) has unanimously selected Dr. Susan Short as the school’s new principal.
Dr. Short comes to Arnett from Stephens Elementary School in Boone County, where she most recently served as Assistant Principal. In her twenty years in education, Dr. Short has also served as a Special Education teacher at the middle and elementary school levels, coordinator of interventions and Title I programs, an RtI point person, and an intervention specialist.
"I am thrilled to have Dr. Short join the Arnett Elementary and Erlanger-Elsmere Schools family,” said Mr. Chad Molley, Superintendent. “Building strong, meaningful relationships with staff, students, and families is a priority for Dr. Short as the principal of Arnett Elementary School. She also believes in providing equitable access to rigorous instruction with the necessary support for students to meet high expectations for learning. These core beliefs will be a catalyst for staff and student growth and are consistent with the mission, vision, and the focus of our curriculum and instruction."
Dr. Short has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree along with teaching certification in Special Education. She completed her Doctorate in Education in 2015. She resides in Hebron with her husband, Steve, and two youngest sons. Her family also includes three adult children, two grandchildren, and a third grandchild due this winter.
