Dear EES Staff and Families,

The Erlanger-Elsmere Schools recognizes that providing in-person school activities plays a vital role in the education, social and emotional development, mental health, and overall well-being of our students. For these reasons, the district and school leadership of the Erlanger-Elsmere Schools is pleased to announce that we will begin our hybrid model of in-person learning for our Kindergarten through 12th grade students on Monday, October 5, 2020.

Back to SchoolOur hybrid model will follow an A/B schedule. Group A students will attend school on Mondays and Tuesdays and Group B students attend school on Wednesdays and Thursdays. In-person instruction will occur between the regular school hours of 8 AM to 3 PM. Fridays, and the days student groups are not scheduled for in-person instruction, will be virtual learning days for students. Students living in the same household will be placed in the same group.

The health and safety of our staff, students and families remains a priority as we transition to our hybrid model of instruction. We will continue to offer an all-virtual model of instruction to families that do not wish to have their child/ren attend in-person classes. Additionally, we will be implementing the EES Reopening Plan guidance document to ensure compliance with masking, social distancing, hand hygiene, temperature checks, screening criteria and the KDE’s Healthy at Schools Flagship document. For the health and safety of all involved masks must be properly worn at all times by all students and staff.

Several items need to be completed by families over the next few days for a smooth transition to our hybrid model of instruction:

  • Complete the Instructional Choice Survey by 4 PM Monday, September 21, 2020.

  • Complete the Online Registration (OLR) process by Friday, October 2, 2020.

  • Student immunizations must be up to date by Friday, October 30, 2020.
Students with incomplete immunization records or without a confirmed appointment to get immunizations will not be permitted to continue participation in in-person activities. If you have completed documents, please submit to the school office now. You may also pick up enrollment packets for our School Based Health Center at each school. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 859-342-2411.

As we continue to navigate the unique circumstances of this global pandemic, we will need the cooperation, collaboration, support, and patience of all Erlanger-Elsmere Schools’ staff, students, and families to be successful. We are excited to welcome students back to our schools and continue to serve students through virtual instruction. More detailed information will be coming out from the district and schools in the next few days, including group assignments for students. Preschool staff will communicate information directly to their families such as; start date, schedules, group assignments, and guidelines. Should you have any questions please contact the Board Office, your child’s school, or preschool staff.

Sincerely,

Chad D. Molley
Superintendent
