Full Service Community Schools Grant

The Full Service Community Schools Grant is a five-year grant that serves Miles and Lindeman Elementary. This grant supports students at Miles and Lindeman from preschool to the workforce by focusing on meeting the needs of the whole child, including offering support to high-need students and families. This includes improving student achievement in Math and Literacy, and connecting families in need with essential resources. This grant emphasizes comprehensive collaboration of resources and services between school staff, community partners, and District families for maximum connectivity, and problem-solving.

This grant may be able to assist others in our District with literacy or math initiatives, violence/drug prevention services or materials, events/projects about emotional health/academic success/soft skills/school transitions/career planning, training events, and family engagements.

The grant will end on September 30, 2025.

This grant supports students at Miles and Lindeman from preschool to the workforce by focusing on meeting the needs of the whole child, including offering support to high-need students and families.

Alanya is responsible for grant implementation at Miles Elementary. One of her main responsibilities is to ensure that spending is in line with the grant goals. She also collaborates with the Full-Service Community Schools team to assist high-need families with wraparound services and supports by ensuring that they have access to all the resources and information that they need to succeed.  For students, this includes individual academic interventions and supports, sensory and emotional breaks, substance abuse prevention education, and Tier 2 intervention supports.  Additional responsibilities include helping to facilitate family engagement events.

The Families in Transition (FIT) program’s mission is to connect students and families who are homeless with education and community resources.

Jenni collaborates with the Full-Service Community Schools team to assist high-need families with wraparound services and supports through identifying and assisting those families who struggle with unstable and inadequate housing and homelessness. My goal is to enable students to focus on learning and academic success. As part of the FSCS grant, I also assist with family engagement events like the Dinner Table Project; school transitions, early childhood initiatives, and student literacy endeavors.

Collaborates with the Full-Service Community Schools team to assist high-need families with wraparound services and supports through administration of Functional Behavioral Assessments and other behavior supports. 

Abigail conducts evaluations for special education services and consults with teachers on academic and behavioral interventions for student success. Emily Salsbury

In addition to traditional School Nurse duties, Emily coordinates dental and vision screenings for all students at Lindeman. She can also perform a vision screening if needed. Emily acts as a liaison for the district’s School-Based Health Center (through Health Point). The School-Based Health Center can help students with physicals, immunizations, flu shots, and some dental services. 

Emily collaborates with the rest of the Full Service Community Schools staff to provide wraparound services and supports for high-need and homeless families by assisting with health needs.
