Calendar revised due to Monday's snow day; students will now attend Friday, March 14
With yesterday's closing due to weather, the Erlanger-Elsmere School District has now missed seven days of school this year. To keep students from attending school in June, the 2013-2014 calendar has been revised (pending board approval) to move the "Professional Learning Community" Day scheduled for March 14 to the end of the calendar.
Register your child for Kindergarten for the 2014-15 school year
Kindergarten registration for the 2014-2015 school year is scheduled for March 11 and March 12 at each elementary school in the district. For more information, please contact your neighborhood school directly: Arnett Elementary (859-727*-1488); Howell Elementary (859-727-1108); Lindeman Elementary (859-727-1188); and Miles Elementary (859-727-2231).

District recognized for dental program
On Friday, February 28, the Healthy Smiles for Our Kids coalition held its first ever Healthy Smiles Summit, held at the Boone County Library. During the summit, the Erlanger-Elsmere District was recognzied with a "Healthy Smiles Hero Award" for its dental prevention and treatment program. Miles promotional video begins with student promise
An earlier post on this site linked to a YouTube video that featured students and teachers from Miles Elementary. A recent story on the Cincinnati.com website discusses the video, as well as the impetus of the video: a promise on the part of a 5th grade student running for class office.

Lloyd student, teacher present at conference
On Thursday, February 20, Lloyd High School Physical Education teacher, along with Lloyd junior Addison Bosley, presented at the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (AAHPERD) Southern District convention, which was held jointly with the convention of its Kentucky affiliate.
